Reading Across America Bingo and Blackout Reading Challenge. 📕 📖
All the students at South Man Elementwty that completed Bingo during our Read Across America Reading Challenge received a “I love to read” bracelet” and those completing the blackout competition received a pencil and “Let’s Read” pencil tag!
We had 14 students complete the Blackout challenge and Mrs. Tammy randomly selected the grand prize winning bingo card from the submissions. Olivia received a $10 Wendy’s gift card. Way to go, Olivia!
Way to go students for a job well done! If a student still has Bingo, they may turn it in for a bracelet, but the cutoff for the grand prize blackout drawing was today.

All schools have returned to their normal operating schedules, and students can now be signed in and out. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during today’s drill. This is Principal Harris at South Man Elementary School, please listen carefully to the following information. Logan County Schools will be participating in a Statewide Tornado Drill planned for today at approximately 11:00 a.m.
The purpose of this drill is to ensure our school community and first responders are better prepared in the event of an actual tornado. During this time, school buildings may be locked down and no one will be allowed to sign in or out. Phone calls to the school may also go unanswered during the drill.
At the conclusion of the drill, parents/guardians will be notified, and all schools will return to normal operating procedures. We want to thank Logan County Schools and our first responders for making school safety a top priority. Please join us this evening, Thursday, March 20th for our South Man Elementary Reading and Math Workshop from 5 pm to 7 pm. Parents and students will move from station to station to experience activities centered around space in reading, math, crafts and a visit to the Star Dome. All adventures are free for our families!

Yesterday, we kicked off the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge with Wendy Bradley and our “Duck Squad”! We hope our little school will continue to be among the top contributors for the state!

This is just a reminder that the Santa Shop will begin tomorrow, Monday December 2nd through Friday, December 6th. All items in the Santa Shop are $3.00.
Thursday, December 5th is our trip to the movies. Please submit permission forms by Wednesday, December 4th. Parents may attend and the cost is $10 per person. All South Man Students will be attending free of charge thanks to our PTO and LSIC committee.
