Cell Phone Policy

2024-2025 School Year Update:

Cell Phones (Personal Connection Devices - PCDs) will not be used in classrooms at LHS. Chromebooks are used for instruction and not PCDs. PCDs accessories will not be used in classrooms either and may include, but are not limited to smart watches, ear buds and headphones. All ringers, noises and vibrations should be off on any PCD or accessory when at LHS. There should never be a visible PCD in an LHS classroom.

  • Teachers will include violations of this Cell Phone policy into their classroom management plan with a 2-3 step classroom consequence before they refer students to administrator for violations of school policy. Once classroom teachers have executed and documented the classroom consequences that have been issued, then students will be subject to administrative discipline. Inappropriate uses of PCDs will result in Detention &/or Suspension of students in accordance with the LHS Discipline Matrix.

  • Cell Phones are not allowed in the restrooms at LHS, therefore when being excused to the restroom from class a student should not leave with a cell phone on them.

  • Appropriate use of PCDs outside of the classroom at LHS is expected.  A PCD will not disrupt the school environment at LHS.
